The first few Sharkbuoy IIs were delivered with aluminium frames. Although light and lower cost it was quickly seen that the 40mm pipe that makes up the frame wasn't robust enough for... in Sharkbuoy spirit, being bullet proof. Although the buoy did get run over by a ship, we were'nt satisfied...

Since these early Sharkbuoys we have upgraded all the metal work to 316 stainless steel which as well as being super tough, looks fabulous and is corrosion resistant. When it comes to toughness, some extra cost is well worth the piece of mind gained when putting the buoys to work.
